Ministry Covenant

United Community Baptist Church

Ministry Covenant

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and been baptized and being in agreement with United Community Baptist Church statement strategy, and structure; I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the United Community Baptist Church family: organized in April, 1971.  In doing so, I commit myself first to God and then to the other members of United Community Baptist Church by doing the following:

1. I will do my part to love others, pray for others, encourage others, admonish others, greet others, serve others, teach others, accept others, honor others, bear other’s burdens, forgive others, sing to others, submit to others, and be devoted to others.

2. I will protect the unity of this ministry by acting in love toward other members; by refusing to gossip; and by following the leadership. Romans 14:19, 1 Peter 1:22, Ephesians 4:29, and Hebrew 13:17.

3. I will share the responsibility of this ministry by praying for its growth; by inviting others to attend; and by warmly welcoming those who visit. 1 Thessalonians 1:1-2, Luke 14:23, and Romans 15:7.

4. I will serve this ministry by discovering my gifts and talents; by being equipped to serve my Pastor and other Ministers and ministries; and by developing a “servant’s heart”. 1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 4:11-12, and Philippians 2:3-4, 7.

5. I will actively support the testimony of this ministry by attending faithfully; by living a godly life; and by giving regularly. Hebrew 10:25, Philippians 1:27, 1 Corinthians 16:2, and Leviticus 27:30.

I fully understand that these five commandments are what membership in a local body of believers is all about. These are my responsibilities as a member of the United Community Baptist Church family and I accept them. So help me God!!
